Eligibility Criteria

Educational qualification
Qualification must be possessed on or before the closing date, 30 September 2026.
- SI in Delhi Police and SI GD in CAPF: Bachelor degree from a recognized university or equivalent. Open and distance degrees are valid only if approved by Distance Education Bureau for the relevant period.
- SI Fire in CISF: Bachelor degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized university, or Matriculation with three year diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobile, Chemical, Mining, Aeronautical, Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent. Higher B.Tech or M.Tech in relevant field is accepted only with the basic diploma.
- Driving licence: Male candidates for Delhi Police SI must hold a valid driving licence for LMV with motorcycle and car on the date fixed for PE and MT. Male candidates without this licence are eligible only for CAPF SI posts.
- NCC certificate holders as on closing date get bonus marks. Sports certificates give no extra marks.
Can Final Year Apply?
Yes, final year students can apply for SSC CPO 2026, but they must possess the degree on or before 30 September 2026. The Staff Selection Commission clearly states that candidates who have appeared in the Bachelor degree exam can apply only if they have proof of passing by the cut off date.
At document verification, you must produce mark sheets or provisional degree. If the university result was declared on or before 30 September 2026 and you have passed, you are treated as eligible. Mere processing of result by that date is not enough. If you cannot prove this with documents, your candidature will be cancelled.
Selection Process
The ssc cpo selection process has four mandatory stages in order. You must clear each stage to move to the next.
- Paper 1, computer based test. Screening test for 100 marks. Normalised scores decide PST and PET call. Minimum qualifying marks without NCC bonus are UR 30 percent, OBC and EWS 25 percent, all other categories 20 percent.
- PST and PET, physical tests. Qualifying in nature, no marks. Ex Servicemen need not undergo PET, but must pass PST, written tests and medical standards.

- Detailed Medical Examination and Document Verification. Qualifying in nature. Review medical is held preferably next day for unfit candidates. Final selection and force allocation is based on Paper 2 score including NCC bonus and post preference.
Final merit does not add Paper 1 marks separately for selection, as allocation uses Paper 2 performance with preferences. Tie in Paper 1 plus Paper 2 total is resolved by Paper 2 total, then English marks in Paper 2, then older age, then alphabetical order.

NCC bonus and syllabus hint
NCC holders get bonus added to normalised scores in each paper. C certificate gets 5 percent of maximum marks, B certificate gets 3 percent, A certificate gets 2 percent.

PST and PET are qualifying and elimination in nature. They carry no marks, but failure means exit from SSC CPO 2026.
Physical Standard Test
Weight must be proportionate to height for all posts. Female candidates have no chest measurement.

Extra relaxations apply for Gorkha male in CAPF at 157 cm height, ST of North East male at 157 cm height, and SI Fire male chest at 81 cm unexpanded and 86 cm expanded. Relaxation needs a certificate in the prescribed form from the district authority.

Pregnant female candidates are declared temporarily unfit and the vacancy is kept reserved till re test six weeks after confinement with fitness certificate.
Medical and tattoo rules
Eyesight without correction must be distant 6 by 6 in better eye and 6 by 9 in worse eye, near N6 in better eye and N9 in worse eye. High colour vision is needed. Knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein and squint lead to rejection. Tattoos with religious symbols or names are allowed only on inner left forearm or back of hands, with size less than one fourth of the part.
How to Apply Online
How to apply ssc cpo? The SSC CPO apply online 2026 process is fully online on ssc.gov.in or the mySSC mobile app. Old OTR from ssc.nic.in will not work. You must complete fresh One Time Registration on ssc.gov.in.
